Green Homes Wales: Making Homes Greener, Cheaper & Cleaner

Green Homes Wales is a Welsh Government initiative, managed by the Development Bank of Wales, designed to help homeowners make energy-efficient upgrades that save bills, cut carbon emissions, and improve comfort. Under the scheme, eligible homeowners in Wales can access interest-free loans between £1,000 and £25,000, with repayment terms up to 10 years, plus a 6-month repayment holiday to let your new green measures start to deliver savings without stress.

But that’s not all — alongside the zero-interest loans, there’s grant funding available for certain renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, reducing your out-of-pocket costs even further. Whether you’re thinking about solar panels, heat pumps, better insulation, or smart energy controls, you’ll also get expert advice from a Retrofit Coordinator, who’ll assess your home and recommend solutions tailor-made to your situation.

The Green Homes Wales scheme is open to homeowners whose homes are in Wales, are owner-occupied, and your primary residence. Landlords and brand new builds are not presently eligible.
