7.2kW Zappi V2 tethered Charger £725MyEnergi have done a great job claiming the solar niche market, with a charger specialised to optimise solar self-use, as well as a number of other functions.
EVBOX Elvi
7.2kW Elvi Charger £925EVBOX is another large company providing a robust and reliable range of chargers across all categories. The Elvi is their standard wall or pole mounted 7.2kW unit. As with Rolec, a number of options exist for commercial users.
Selecting the right EV Charger
Simply put, for home charging a standard 7.2kW device will be more than sufficient. To benefit from the OLEV Grant of £350, the charger must be 'Smart' and relay information back to the OLEV servers. Before installing we must check with the local DNO, Western Power, that your mains supply cable is adequate for the new demand.
For commercial users, the same option exists for standard vehicle charging for employees and customers. In addition, higher power and 3-phase charging is available and if the grid is sufficient, DC Ultra Fast chargers can add a growing revenue opportunity. The Workplace grant is up to £500 per charge point and up to 20 charge points can be installed under the scheme by one company.
